If you are looking for an interesting role in a dynamic and diverse group, join us in our Americas region.Job Purpose The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing advanced payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of complex payroll transactions, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, local, and union requirements. This role serves as a subject matter expert for payroll operations, tax and deduction accuracy, garnishment administration, union pay rules, and system data integrity. The Senior Payroll Specialist provides guidance to payroll team members, resolves escalated issues, supports audits and reporting needs, and contributes to process improvements that enhance payroll quality, efficiency, and compliance.Your Tasks Payroll ProcessingProcess bi weekly/weekly payroll cycles with high accuracy.Audit new hires, terminations, LOA changes, and transfers for pay impact.Validate tax setups, home/work locations, SIT/SUI configurations, and reciprocity rules.Audit large scale pay categories (overtime, shift differentials, incentives, allowances).Reviews and validates timecards, pay codes, adjustments, and earnings calculations.Prepares off cycle payments, corrections, and manual checks as required.Performs pre and post payroll audits to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.Process or assist with payroll accurately, timely, and efficiently in compliance with all federal, state/provincial, local, and regulatory requirements.Responsible for managing a work queue ensuring that work is managed within SLA's.Manages and responds to moderately complex, Tier 2 employee escalations.Follows and maintain internal control policies, procedures, and compliance with respect to the payroll process.Provides recommendations for process improvements and assists in developing solutions to meet business needs.Create EPIP for loading to payrollStakeholdersDevelops and maintains strong working relationships with peers and managers across HR and Payroll Operations function and other lines of business.Provides guidance on routine end-to-end process execution and transaction support.Cooperate with internal and external 3rd party vendors to triage issues.Your Profile Education LevelAssociate's degree or equivalentExperience Level3+ years of payroll experience, including expertise in a multi-state payroll environmentExposure and knowledge of complex HR and Finance processes that impact payrollAdvanced Excel SkillsKnowledge of ADP Vantage and Kronos Timekeeping, or similar time and attendance and payroll applicationsKnowledge of wage and hour laws related to payrollAnalytical and problem-solving skills as problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysisAbility to gather, analyze and interpret information for completeness and accuracyCommunication skills (oral & written); ability to effectively interact with others at all levelsBilingual (Spanish speaking), preferred, but not requiredWe Offer Great opportunity to work for the biggest logistics company in the worldInternational and virtual environmentFlexibility and great opportunity to learnTempting compensation and benefitsDHL is an equal opportunity employer. Additional responsibilities and qualifications include:Inputs data to computerized payroll systems to prepare weekly and biweekly payroll, including updating and adjusting employee master file records upon notice of changes to deductions or status.Completes standard payroll processing activities, such as: computes wage and overtime payments, calculates and records payroll deductions, and processes requests for off-cycle payments.Answers routine questions (via email and phone) from employees and management regarding payroll matters.Performs standard administrative tasks, including answering phones, preparing reports, maintaining records, and tracking information using case management tool.Audits and processes payroll information submitted by Business Partners for accuracy, policy compliance, and completeness.Creates manual checks and tracks paycheck shipments.Maintains confidentiality of employee and company data.Required Education and Experience5-7+ years of experience in payroll, multi-state payroll processing preferredWorking knowledge of payroll practices, including local, state, and federal policies and regulationsFunctional knowledge of automated large scale payroll application like ADP ProBusiness.Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferredOur Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
