Role Description The Systems Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago to support and maintain the firm's technology infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have 5–15 years of professional experience and will possess strong technical knowledge across Microsoft environments, cloud services, networking, cybersecurity and end-user support. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, service-oriented environment. Responsibilities primarily include maintaining the firm's server, workstation, network and cloud environments to ensure reliable, secure and efficient day-to-day operations. The Systems Administrator will monitor system health, coordinate software and infrastructure upgrades, administer Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, virtualization platforms and related technologies, and oversee network equipment, storage systems, backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures. Technical Proficiencies Strong and proven experience with the following: Microsoft 365 – Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams Microsoft Endpoint Management – Intune, Defender (EDR) Other Endpoint Management – RMM, Common A/V EDR Vendor, Alerting Microsoft Server Management Firewalls, switches and WAPs Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization Small/Medium SAN/NAS storage management Supporting Windows and Mac client operating systems Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) The successful candidate will provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 technical support, troubleshoot hardware, software, network and application issues, manage employee onboarding and offboarding, and work closely with third-party vendors to resolve complex technical challenges. Additional responsibilities include implementing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, managing endpoint protection, email security, multi-factor authentication, vulnerability remediation, software licensing, technology lifecycle planning, and IT asset management. Candidates should have experience administering Microsoft-based enterprise environments, cloud services, networking infrastructure, and backup solutions. Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, Exchange Online, Mimecast, Veeam, Atera RMM, Immy.bot, and related management tools is preferred.
