Process Piping Engineer

The Process Piping Engineer will support the delivery of process piping design projects from various industries. This role involves client interactions, piping and equipment specification and design layout work, quality and coordination reviews, and coordination with other engineering disciplines on projects. The Process Piping Engineer will in most instances work embedded in a multidisciplinary project environment where communication with other discipline engineers is key to project success. The Process Piping Engineer must be able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to work independently with some guidance and as part of a team.Reporting Structure and Career Growth PotentialDirect Reports – NonePotential career growth to Process/Utilities Engineer, Senior Process Piping Engineer, Project Manager, Department Manager.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure development of consistent and high-quality project deliverablesEnsure that our process piping designs conform to the applicable code requirementsListen to our clients’ needs and independently provide value to our clients by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desiresCommunicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email and phone as necessaryProvide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirementsWork with Salas O’Brien groups to pursue project opportunitiesComplete all required Salas O’Brien trainingAble to demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, customer serviceDevelop and refine process piping engineering and design methodologies, tools, and standardsStay abreast of relevant industry developments and technology advancementsMaintain appropriate contact with our existing clients so that they think of our firm when services are neededWill be an ambassador of the firm to the publicWill always adhere to our core values and beliefsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment, systems and conditions is required. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching.
