Charge Nurse - Hemodialysis

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Charge Nurse specializing in Hemodialysis to lead and coordinate patient care within our outpatient dialysis unit. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and support nursing staff in delivering safe, effective treatments. Duties Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to deliver expert hemodialysis treatments, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physiological evaluations to tailor individualized treatment plans Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, including medication administration, medical records, and treatment logs Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Administer injections, venipuncture, and other invasive procedures with precision and care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, social workers, and specialists in infectious disease care or geriatrics to optimize patient outcomes Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, managing emergencies such as urgent care situations or Level I Trauma Center standards when applicable Support staff development through training on EMR systems, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and patient care best practices Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration; experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics preferred Proven leadership experience as a Charge Nurse or similar supervisory role within a hemodialysis or renal care setting Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to renal therapy and inpatient/outpatient care environments Hands-on experience with IV insertion, medication administration, and vital signs assessment Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation Experience working in Level II trauma centers or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable Strong background in emergency medicine, urgent care procedures, or post-acute/sub-acute care settings such as PICU or Geriatrics is advantageous Ability to perform venipuncture efficiently and safely; experience administering injections preferred Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to handle complex medical situations confidently Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Join us as a Charge Nurse - Hemodialysis and lead our dedicated team in delivering exceptional renal care.
