Senior Electrical Engineer

Mercury Electronics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with working knowledge of electrical and control systems including those for electrical power generation and distribution systems and equipment. The candidate will work closely with Engineers and Production team members to develop and maintain production documents and processes. The position requires collaboration with employees in engineering as well as production support. The position also requires collaboration with engineering team members from our customers to implement new designs and design changes.DutiesUnder general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will provide manufacturing and sales engineering support in our fast paced, dynamic environment. Duties include, but are not limited to:Analyze customer designs for manufacturabilityWork with sales, engineering, and production to develop harness and electrical panel designs to customer specificationsProvide documentation support to customer specifications by generating manufacturing procedures and reviewing supplemental drawings, BOMs, & wire chartsProject Management including planning and coordinating with sales and production to develop new products and help establish the resources required for production startupAnalyze current processes and implement process improvementsResearch components & specify items required for customer needsSupport sales and production for existing productQualifications/RequirementsCandidate qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:Excellent organization and customer service skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamAbility to communicate technical data clearly (both in writing and verbally)Project management skillsAbility to drive project deliverablesAbility to coordinate project tasks and members of a small teamAttention to detailThe Following Experience Is RequiredCore knowledge of electrical system design practices, including; layout, component/connector selection, wire/cable routing and electrical harness manufacturing techniquesAbility to read and work with complex wiring diagrams and schematicsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)The following experience/knowledge is a plus:Experience in CAD (AutoCAD, or Creo/ProEngineer, etc.).Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards for soldering, splicing, terminating and troubleshooting of electrical systems2+ years of electrical harness design/developmentElectrical system design tools or modules, such as; HarnWare, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo Schematics, Zuken E3 Harness, VeSys Design, etc.3D ModelingKnowledge of military standardsContract manufacturing companiesPCB inspection or trouble shootingOccasional travel required.About Mercury ElectronicsMercury Electronics is a contract manufacturer with 230+ employees and over 80 years of experience producing high quality electrical cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, control panels, and electromechanical assemblies.
