Learn more about why we are one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas.The RN Pediatric Patient Navigator serves to help cancer patients navigate their journey and treatmentsJob Specific ResponsibilitiesDaily assignments may include but are not limited to:Serves as patient advocate assisting patients with a variety of needs throughout their journeyCollaborates with medical staff to coordinate outpatient careMay function at times as department representative for community outreach initiativesHelps to identify community needs and prioritize those needs with current knowledge base of treatment and screening options within the hospital's reachAll other assigned duties related to OncologyEducation and Experience(BSN) Bachelor Science, Nursing+ 4 years of nursing experience+2 years serving in an Oncology setting, preferably a hospitalCPHON preferred; required within 2 years of hire.Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations* RN, registered with the Texas State Board of Nursing or eligible compact license.Skills and AbilitiesAble to work independently, exercise independent judgement, and prioritize workloadExcellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing; Ability to communicate with empathy and influenceGreat organizational skills; Able to organize thoughts on paper, presentation, and communicationInteraction with Other Departments and Other RelationshipsThis position requires interaction with medical staff in the hospital and external entities that extend resources and care for cancer patientsPhysical CapabilitiesVisual and auditory acuity required. Occasional lifting of patients with assistance is required.Environmental/Working ConditionsThis position is subject to inside environmental changes that may include constant change in temperatures.
