Every member of our team is a valuable resource in this pursuit of excellence, and we are currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist.Your day to day:This position provides both direct and consultation services to students with disabilities in the areas of speech and/or language; possess and maintains competency in assessment and evaluation techniques; follows compliance procedures and timelines with regard to student Individual Education Plans and evaluation reports; works as a cooperative member of a multidisciplinary team; and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building administrator and/or District Administration. Additional responsibilities include:Determine the diagnostic needs of students related to language, speech, and hearing concerns of school personnel, parental concern, classroom observations, and reviewing of the child's history.Determine accurately and efficiently those individuals who exhibit disorders of language, speech and/or hearing.Gather diagnostic information concerning the student's standardized and informal tests and classroom observations.Determine through competent examination, diagnostic procedures, and appropriate referral, the nature, etiology, and severity of the specific disability(s) of those individuals with language, speech, and/or hearing disorders.Plan, conduct and modify an appropriate treatment program for those individuals diagnosed as having language, speech and/or hearing disorders and arrange for the implementation programs.Serve in a consultative role in planning and implementing language-speech improvement programs.Interpret the results and conclusions of diagnostic data to professional team members in order to determine to what extent the language, speech or hearing disorder may be contributing to the child's performance in the classroom.Works cooperatively with team members in planning effective educational interventions for students.Explore and implement with teachers, parents, team members and outside agencies (when appropriate) or other involved personnel appropriate strategies for meeting the communication needs of each child.Serve as a resource person in the area of language, speech, and hearing skills.Select a variety of activities that ensure continuous professional growth.Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and supporting student learning objectives.Why we'll love you:You have worked hard to obtain a Master's degree from an accredited college or university.License type:Indiana Speech Language Pathologist License through IPLA (Indiana Professional Licensing Agency)ASHA: American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)Will consider a Clinical Fellow SLPYou are proficient in the use of technology.You are organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.You are a creative thinker and problem solver, an excellent communicator with strong collaboration skills and are a team player.You have the ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with students, parents, and fellow staff members in a multicultural environment.Why you'll love us:We value a positive culture and environment and work hard to provide a safe, engaging place for students and staff based on trust, respect, and responsibility.We offer Group Medical Insurance, including an annual routine vision examDental InsuranceSupplemental Insurance offeringsOnsite Wellness ClinicDiscounted YMCA membershipLife Insurance - $50,000 group life productLong Term DisabilityTeacher Retirement Fund contributions401a and 403b options availableFlex Days (paid time off)Free entry to athletic and performing arts eventsDeKalb County Central United School District seeks to develop and nurture its diversity.
