Job Title: Data ArchitectEmployment Type: Contract (Potential to convert to FTE)Employment Duration: 6 months to startWorking Location: Must work onsite 2-3 days per week in West Austin/Lost Creek neighborhoodRequired Core Hours/Time Zone: Central Time ZonePay Range: $70-90/hourNotable Benefits: Elective Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance availableWork Authorization Requirements: Please note that this position is not eligible for candidates who require current or future visa sponsorship.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Data Architect to design, optimize, and govern the enterprise data architecture that powers our analytics, ERP, and integration platforms. This role is intended to rapidly bring in expertise while building toward a long-term capability. The Data Architect will define how data is structured, integrated, and consumed across enterprise systems (D365, E2Open, Onestream, XTEL, SPS Commerce, Shopify, Fabric/Power BI). This role is both strategic (data models, governance, platform standards) and hands-on (SQL, ETL, Fabric pipelines, integration patterns).Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Data Architecture: Define the enterprise data model, canonical data structures, and integration standards. Establish guidelines for data pipelines, warehouses, and analytics layers (Fabric, SQL, Power BI).Data Governance & Quality: Partner with IT and business teams to implement Master Data Management (MDM) and metadata strategy. Ensure compliance with SOX, privacy, and security requirements for data lineage and traceability.Integration Strategy: Re-architect current SQL-based integration bus into modern Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, or iPaaS). Ensure ERP (D365) and business-owned applications integrate seamlessly with central data platforms.Analytics Enablement: Lead migration from Tableau/SQL-based reporting to Microsoft Fabric & Power BI. Define semantic models, measures, and datasets for scalable self-service BI.Collaboration & Leadership: Act as the bridge between IT, business stakeholders, and vendors to ensure data architecture meets enterprise needs. Mentor developers, analysts, and engineers in data best practices.Qualifications8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise BI roles.Strong expertise with Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Data Lake).Deep SQL knowledge and experience optimizing complex data models.Experience with ERP data models (Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O preferred).Prior work with financial systems (Onestream, EPM) and supply chain tools (E2Open, SPS, XTEL) a plus.Knowledge of SOX IT controls, data privacy (GDPR/CPRA), and security best practices.Strong communication skills to translate technical architecture into business value.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s a plus.Certifications (Azure Data Engineer, Data Architect, or equivalent) preferred.
