Best Company.Job SummaryThe Underwriting Assistant provides support and assistance to all levels of Underwriters, Underwriting Managers and Division Managers. Essential duties include collecting and reviewing data for new and renewal business and performing administrative duties for underwriting as requested.Duties And ResponsibilitiesContinuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer ServicePrepare and process policies and endorsements for issuance in accordance with binders and Underwriters instructions.Code premium in accordance with division guidelines and Underwriter instructions.Assist in the review of new and renewal submissions to determine if they meet underwriting criteria, and for completeness of documentation.Request and review incoming Broker of Record letters, as appropriate.Request predetermined documentation from the broker that will be required for rating, quoting, binding, and policy issuance. Review documentation as received and input into the underwriting dashboard. Set-up and diary for follow-up of requested documentation and information.Follow up for responses to quotes for both new and renewal business.Order loss inspections and premium audits per division guidelines, diary for receipt, and follow-up as needed.Prepare and send Notices of Cancellation, as requested. Prepare quotes for extended reporting period.Research, document, and maintain reference materials, as requested.Other duties as assigned by the Division ManagerKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.High degree of personal initiative and self motivation. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.A commitment to providing superior customer service.Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience And EducationHigh school diploma requiredBachelor’s Degree or 1-3 years equivalent work experienceGeneral knowledge of P&C insurance operations preferredPlease note that this position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship.
