Material Handler
Position Summary
Our material handlers assist production by efficiently retrieving products while maintaining accurate inventory and storage.
General Duties
Loading, unloading, and moving pallets and other materials
Staging and palletizing product to the production line
Ability to move product via trailers and backing into tight areas
Lifting product, either on pallets or unpalletized, limit 50 pounds without assistance
Visually inspect product for damage, verify count of pieces in container, and if parts are required to be painted, verify the parts match Engineering blueprint
Performing an initial walk-around of the forklift to ensure it is in good working order before operating it, and reporting any problems or irregularities to maintenance (forklift check-in document)
Safe and efficient operation of forklift and attachments
Achieve company lift truck certification and perform regular echelon machine maintenance.
Inputs and retrieves significant data via Mobile to perform all picking, moving, completing tasks, assure transaction are completed accurately for accurate inventory data
Maintain proper 5S, housekeeping, and safety standards
Must wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Responsible for their safety and the safety of others
Comply with company core values, policies, and legal guidelines
Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must pass company lift truck certification
Experience running a forklift is preferred.
Familiarity with bar code equipment preferred
Must possess basic computer skills
Must work well independently and in a team situation
Must be quality and safety-oriented
Must have high attention to detail and a sense of urgency
Ability to compute basic mathematics
Ability to read, comprehend, follow and apply work instructions and procedures
Accurate problem identification and solving skills are preferred
Working Conditions
Manufacturing Environment:
Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time
Wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects.
Varying temperatures, depending upon season and machining
