This full-time position is based in Washington, DC, offering a hybrid work environment with two days per week at a local IRS office and three days teleworking. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level Java applications. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, modern application design principles, and a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. The Senior Java Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that enhance the IRS's publishing capabilities and operational efficiency.QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of professional experience in Java development and enterprise application design.Proficiency in Java SE and Java EE technologies, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with cloud-native application development.Knowledge of modern development tools and frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, Maven, and Jenkins.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.Ability to obtain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance Java-based enterprise applications supporting IRS CAPS operations.Collaborate with business analysts, system architects, and other developers to translate requirements into technical solutions.Implement cloud-based solutions and leverage cloud services to enhance application scalability and resilience.Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, code, and deployment procedures.Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, providing support and troubleshooting for production environments.Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve application performance and security.BenefitsTotal Force Alliance offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and professional growth of our employees.
