JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Designer will develop and prepare electrical drawings.JOB DUTIES:Develop and prepare detailed electrical engineering and construction installation drawings.Consult with lead engineers and review project shop drawings for design accuracy.Develop conceptual or detailed electrical designs in power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems instrumentation, and controls for a variety of industries.Develop control panel drawings consisting of PLC panel layouts and I/O schematics.Electrical design deliverables include electrical one lines, power and lighting plans, electrical site plans, area classification plans, & grounding plans.Develop Revit and AutoCAD 3D & 2D models.Apply thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable building codes to design projects.Analyze mechanical and process designs by reviewing P&IDs & general arrangement drawings.Comply with Company's Quality Control and Project Management procedures.Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization's goals.Perform other duties as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Associates or technical degree is required.0-5 years of experience is required.Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other Building Codes is preferred.Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong working knowledge of the Electrical Construction Industry.Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.Must comply with Vestal Corporations' core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employees.
