Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a team based in Austin, Texas. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is well suited for someone who enjoys working across daily financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to a dependable month-end close. The ideal candidate brings strong reconciliation experience, confidence preparing journal entries, and familiarity with enterprise accounting platforms such as Workday.Responsibilities:• Reconcile bank activity and resolve discrepancies to help ensure complete and accurate cash reporting.• Track prepaid expenses, maintain supporting schedules, and record amortization in accordance with accounting guidelines.• Review and reconcile corporate card and purchasing card transactions while following internal expense policies.• Manage incoming mail related to accounting operations and coordinate the preparation and printing of checks.• Prepare journal entries with appropriate documentation and post them accurately to the general ledger.• Support day-to-day general ledger activity by researching variances and assisting with account analysis.• Use Workday or a comparable financial system to process transactions, maintain records, and support reporting needs.• Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role supporting general ledger activities.• Hands-on knowledge of bank reconciliations, prepaid accounting, and journal entry preparation.• Familiarity with corporate card or company credit card reconciliation processes.• Working knowledge of enterprise accounting systems such as Workday or similar platforms.• Understanding of corporate tax fundamentals and standard accounting controls.• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
