Our work depends on a TS/SCI level Cloud Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.Specific duties and responsibilities:Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systemsMaintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)Produce detailed documentationMaintain system in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, and RDSAutomate and optimize service deploymentsDelivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in sameActively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversightRefactoring legacy application code for improved reliability and maintainabilityMentoring junior developersWriting and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis conceptsWriting and debugging Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related languageDeveloping applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design conceptsWhat you'll need to succeed:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience8+ years IT experienceMeet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySa+, or CCNARequired skills:Strong knowledge of Amazon Web ServicesStrong Troubleshooting skillsExperience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or PerlFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologyFamiliarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, Jenkins, NexusExtensive Typescript or Javascript backgroundAngular frontend framework; UI/UX designMicroservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIsSupporting a full-stack application in a PaaS environmentCI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLabCreating and deploying containerized applications, ideally with DockerDesigning/implementing container orchestration with KubernetesDesired skills:Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLIExperience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)Experience with Go programming languageFamiliarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal developmentDatabase experience with a Postgres backendStrong communication skillsDesired certifications:AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
