Job SummaryWe are seeking a driven Insurance Claims & Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our mitigation and restoration team. This role is ideal for the Xactimate experienced candidate and/or as an independent adjuster, staff adjuster, or field adjuster who understands how carriers evaluate claims and can use that knowledge to ensure our clients' losses are properly documented, approved, and paid.You will work on the contractor side—advocating for homeowners, justifying scope and pricing, and pushing back on reductions—while also managing collections to ensure invoices are paid in full.Why This Role is a Great Fit for AdjustersUse your adjuster experience on the other side of the claimNo climbing roofs or field inspectionsConsistent workload (no chasing deployments)Leverage your knowledge of carrier guidelines and estimating to maximize claim outcomesKey ResponsibilitiesInsurance Claims ManagementAct as liaison between clients, insurance adjusters, and carriersReview and compare carrier estimates vs. actual scope of workWrite and submit supplements using XactimateNegotiate with desk and field adjusters on scope, pricing, and reductionsIdentify underpaid, denied, or missed items and pursue recoveryBuild well-documented files that support full reimbursementMaintain consistent follow-up to keep claims movingAccounts Receivable & CollectionsTrack and manage all outstanding insurance receivablesFollow up with carriers on delayed or unpaid claimsCommunicate with customers regarding deductibles and balancesResolve billing discrepancies and payment issuesAssist with escalations, collections, or lien processes when necessaryPost payments and maintain accurate recordsBackup for other business office personnel duties as neededQualificationsPrior experience as an independent adjuster, staff adjuster, or field adjuster preferredStrong working knowledge of XactimateUnderstanding of carrier guidelines, claim workflows, and estimating practicesExperience negotiating claims, reviewing estimates, and handling supplementsStrong follow-up and persistence in collecting paymentsExcellent communication and documentation skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple claimsPreferred BackgroundRestoration or mitigation industry experience (biohazard/death/trauma, water, fire, mold)Experience on both carrier and contractor sides of claimsFamiliarity with IICRC standardsExperience with accounting or A/R processesWhat Success Looks LikeIncreased claim approvals and reduced write-downsFaster claim turnaround and payment timelinesLow aging on receivablesStrong, defensible documentation on every fileAbout SCU ServicesSCU Services is a trusted and proven biohazard and specialty cleanup company built on care, compassion, and professionalism.
