Job Overview: The position supports engineers and scientists in hands-on development of laser and laser-based remote sensing systems. You will contribute directly to ongoing research and product development by supporting testing, data analysis, and system design. This role requires someone who is a quick learner, highly motivated, able to work individually and with a team who possesses excellent communication skills. Responsibilities: · Support research and laboratory experiments · Assist in aligning, characterizing and troubleshooting laser setups · Collaborate with engineers and scientists on documentation · Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safe lab practices Minimum Qualifications: · Currently pursuing a BS in optical sciences, optical engineering, physics, or a related field · Current minimum GPA: 3.2 · Experience with optical laboratory setups & alignment techniques · Familiarity with lab instruments such as power meters, spectrometers and oscilloscopes · Strong interest in laser systems, optical design and experimental physics · Proficiency with Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Desired: · Some programming experience such as LabView, MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools · Knowledge of optical design software like Zemax · Coursework in optics and/or lasers What's in It for You: · Hands-on experience working with advanced laser and optical systems · Mentorship from experienced engineers and scientists · Exposure to cutting-edge research and development If interested, please submit your application to jbergevin(at)beyondphotonics(dot)com Job Type: Internship Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
