This position is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with experience in soil and groundwater investigations, brownfield remediation, environmental compliance, technical report preparation, and stormwater compliance inspections.The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and executing environmental field investigations, overseeing drilling and sampling activities, classifying soils, preparing technical work plans and reports, conducting SWPPP inspections, and supporting remediation and redevelopment projects. Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment.A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline is required. The ideal candidate will possess 3–5 years of environmental consulting experience with demonstrated experience performing subsurface investigations and preparing technical deliverables.ResponsibilitiesPerform and oversee soil, groundwater, and soil vapor investigationsClassify soils in accordance with USCS and NYSDEC requirementsOversee drilling, monitoring well installation, and environmental sampling activitiesPrepare technical work plans, investigation reports, remediation documentation, and data summariesSupport brownfield redevelopment and remediation projectsConduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site AssessmentsPerform SWPPP inspections and prepare inspection reports in accordance with NYSDEC requirementsCoordinate field activities with subcontractors, laboratories, and clientsPrepare figures, site plans, and exhibits using CAD and/or GIS softwareSupport environmental permitting and regulatory compliance effortsAssist with construction oversight, erosion and sediment control inspections, and remedial excavation activitiesMaintain field documentation, chain-of-custody records, and health and safety complianceRequirementsValid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to project sitesBachelor’s Degree in Geology or Environmental Engineering3–5 years of environmental consulting experienceOSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour CertificationExperience with soil classification and subsurface investigationsExperience preparing technical reports and work plansFamiliarity with NYSDEC remediation programs and environmental regulationsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or GIS softwareStrong technical writing, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple field assignments and deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience with Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) projectsGroundwater sampling and monitoring well installation experienceExperience with CAMP monitoring and remedial oversightFamiliarity with SPDES/SWPPP requirements, SWPPP inspections, and environmental permittingExperience preparing figures and mapping using GIS platformsCompany ProfileCORE Environmental Consultants, Inc. is a progressive engineering and environmental consulting firm with offices in Buffalo and New York City.
