RN Senior Surgical CoordinatorPosition SummaryMidwest Vision Partners is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented RN Senior Surgical Coordinator to provide clinical and operational support to our ophthalmologists and surgical teams across the perioperative process.In this role, you will be at the center of surgical workflows-coordinating patient care from pre-op through discharge while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient surgical operations.RN License Required.What You Will Be Working OnCoordinate patient movement and flow through Pre-Op, testing areas, and the Operating Room, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical dayDeliver direct patient care across all phases of the perioperative process, including admissions, intraoperative support, anesthesia recovery, and dischargeAssist the surgeon with clinical tasks and operative procedures, including preparation and handling of instruments, devices, and intraocular lensesManage patient charts, operative documentation, and diagnosis/procedure code selection to maintain medical record accuracy and complianceAssess patient understanding of their procedure and provide pre- and post-operative teaching tailored to individual needsCommunicate proactively with patients, families, and the surgical team-using translation services when needed-to ensure clarity and coordination throughout careMaintain aseptic technique, infection control standards, and safe medication administration practicesSelect, organize, and manage surgical equipment and supplies based on patient needs and surgeon preference cards, anticipating needs before they ariseParticipate in quality assurance (QAPI) initiatives to support patient safety and continuous improvementServe as a resource and role model for clinical staff, supporting orientation and training of new team membersWhat Will Make You AwesomeHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced surgical environmentStrong communicator-written and verbal-with a professional, courteous demeanor that builds trust with physicians, patients, and staffExcellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess, prioritize, and act quickly while maintaining safe patient outcomesProactive and anticipatory in your approach-you stay one step ahead of surgical workflow needs without being askedCommitted to continuous learning and professional development, and willing to serve as a resource and mentor for peersWhat You KnowTo be successful in this role, you will have the following experience or knowledge:Current Ohio RN license and BLS certification required2+ years of clinical experience with an emphasis in PACU, surgery, or critical careWorking knowledge of ASC or hospital operating room environments, including perioperative care coordinationFamiliarity with regulatory standards, medical record policy, and compliance requirements in a surgical settingACLS preferredAbout Midwest Vision PartnersVision is a precious gift.
