This role involves developing applications and services utilizing Java, React, and AWS Cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining microservices using the Spring Boot framework. As a key contributor, you will lead the technical aspects of new capabilities for BJ's Membership applications and APIs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems while adhering to our software engineering and security standards. This hybrid role requires collaboration across various teams, including Application Development, Middleware, Business Intelligence, Operations, and Infrastructure, both in-house and offshore.QualificationsCandidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Java development, including proficiency with Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, Microservices, HTML, React, CSS, JavaScript, JDBC, JMS/MQ, SQL/Postgres, and DynamoDB is required. Experience with cloud technologies such as RDS, API Gateways, Lambda, and DynamoDB is essential. Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-scale application deployments, along with strong systems analysis and design skills, is highly desirable. Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies, as well as marketing applications like CRM, Campaign Management, and Personalization tools, will be advantageous.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain microservices and applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and AWS Cloud technologies.Create detailed technical specifications for new functionalities, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and compliance with BJ's security standards.Lead the development and rollout of new features and capabilities for BJ's Membership applications and APIs.Collaborate closely with Application Development, Middleware, BI, Operations, Infrastructure teams, and offshore partners to coordinate project activities and ensure technical standards are met.Establish and nurture strong working relationships with various business groups and IT partners, including Developers, Product Owners, Network Engineering, and Security teams.Participate actively in requirements gathering, architecture, and design meetings to contribute technical insights and innovations.Enhance and redesign existing applications with new technology stacks to improve performance, scalability, and user experience.Provide on-call support for production environments related to Marketing and Membership applications, including microservices and Adobe Product Suite (AEM, ACC, AEP, Target).Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to best practices.Serve as a technical lead on small to medium-sized projects, guiding development teams and ensuring successful project delivery.Apply knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance tuning to optimize application performance and reliability.BenefitsAt BJ's Wholesale Club, we value our team members and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth.
