DescriptionMake an Impact as a Hands-On Controller in a Well-Established Company with 45+ Years of SuccessWe are a growing small business located in Hauppauge, NY seeking a full-time hands-on Controller on-site to lead and strengthen our accounting and finance operations. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and tax compliance.This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who excels at leading the full accounting function, optimizing ERP and financial reporting systems, implementing scalable processes, and collaborating directly with ownership and our external CPA firm. In this high-impact position, your leadership and improvements in accounting and financial management will have a direct influence on business growth and the company’s long-term strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, credit management, supplier payments, payroll entries, and expense reportingMaintain general ledger (GL) integrity and ensure accurate, timely financial reportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting schedulesOptimize ERP and financial reporting systems, improve workflows, and enhance reporting efficiencyPartner with external CPA firm on tax reporting, compliance, audits, and annual reviewsDevelop budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to support operational planning and growth initiativesProvide actionable financial insights and guidance to ownership to support informed decision-makingManage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering accountability and operational excellence RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience Minimum 3 years of accounting team leadership or supervisory experienceHands-on expertise with month-end close, general ledger (GL) management, reconciliations, and internal controlsExperience partnering with external CPA firms for tax compliance and reportingExperience managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processesProficiency with ERP systems (Sage preferred), Excel, and financial reporting or dashboard tools Strong communicator able to translate complex financial data for leadership and support strategic business decisionsAbility to support business growth and scale accounting operations with revenue expansionDetail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skillsWhy Join Us?High-impact controller role with direct collaboration with ownershipOpportunity to strengthen and scale accounting operations in a growing company in business for over 45 yearsVery profitable company with expanding revenues and operational growthCollaborative, team-oriented environmentCompetitive compensation and benefitsHighly subsidized health insuranceCompany-paid life insurance401(k) with generous company matchThis role goes beyond traditional accounting.
