Robotics Advisor
Kennett High School is seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic, advisor for the Robotics Club, effective with the 2026-27 School Year. The school advisor for Demon Robotics acts as the primary liaison between the team and the school district. He/she may also assume the role of "Lead Mentor" for the team within the FIRST robotics organization. The exact structure of the team's leadership should be discussed and agreed upon by the established adult members of the team. Successful candidates should believe in the importance of the impact of extra-curricular activities in a child's K-12 experience. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to applyRequirements:Coordinating initial team interest meetings in the fallCoordinating kickoff and strategy meetings at the start of the seasonWorking with the team leadership to set the work schedule for the seasonWorking with the team leadership to recruit and retain mentorsEnsuring that clearances are up to date for all adult mentors for the teamEnsuring appropriate registration (with FIRST) of the team including payment of feesCoordination of school-related permission forms for all field tripsObtaining administrative approval for all field trips, including board approval for overnight tripsEnsuring that school personnel are available to accompany all tripsCoordinating school-provided transportation for field trips when necessary, including transportation of the robot and related equipmentCoordinating the use of school facilities for team-related activities (particularly, the auxiliary gym for robot practice)Ensuring the timely deposit of all financial contributions to the teamEnsuring the timely payment of reimbursements to team members and mentorsMaintaining a record of team deposits and expenses and periodically reconciling it with KCSD funds accountingMonitoring students' academic performance and notifying students and parents if a student becomes ineligible to participateWorking with the team's marketing mentor to coordinate marketing and fundraising activitiesCommunicating effectively with all team stakeholders (e.g., students, parents, benefactors, school administrators) regarding team statusResolving any personnel issues within the team by meeting with students, parents, and mentors as appropriateWorking with (typically) the parents of the team president to organize the year-end team banquetCoordinating the process for awarding the Lawton Family Scholarship at the end of the season, including presenting the award at the KHS awards nightMust be interested in supporting and working with all studentsAll employees of Kennett Consolidated School District must have the ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with other employees, faculty, students, and the general public.Interested applicants must have current clearances, Acts 34, 114, 151 and 168.
