Software Engineer / Network Architect Job SummaryGluware is hiring a Network Engineer who has shifted into — or is actively moving toward — Software Engineering. This full-time position reports to the Sr. Director of Solutions Engineering and joins a team of Network and Software Engineers. Come help us push enterprise networking forward. ResponsibilitiesBuild and test supported vendor reference architectures in Gluware's physical and virtual lab environmentsDocument working reference architecture implementations used in production enterprise networksTranslate vendor architectures into the Gluware orchestration engine via dynamic data modelingContribute code and fixes to the Gluware platform to support enterprise customer automation needsCollaborate with Gluware Software Architects and Engineering on automation supporting reference architectures and vendor platformsPartner with Pre-Sales and Sales teams, advising on automation approaches for enterprise, campus, and cloud architecturesStay current on major network and cloud vendor architectures, products, and evolving AI/ML capabilities relevant to network automationLeverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, LLM-assisted scripting) to accelerate development, code review, documentation, and troubleshooting workflowsExecute on directed strategy and solve challenges efficiently and effectively QualificationsMaster’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience2–3 years of hands-on network engineering experience (design, implementation, or operations)Strong scripting experience in JavaScript and/or PythonIntegration experience between software platforms using REST APIsDemonstrated use of AI coding assistants or LLM-based tooling in day-to-day engineering workStrong interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable bridging network engineering and software teamsHighly motivated, able to grasp complex concepts and learn quicklyProven performance in a dynamic, fast-growing organizationSoftware development experience a plus  Nice to HaveCCIE-level certification or advanced knowledge of multiple network vendor and cloud productsStrong knowledge of cloud infrastructure deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent)12+ years in network engineering, network design, or network equipment design & development5+ years working with infrastructure in any capacityHands-on implementation experience with multivendor routers/switches and technologies such as:Data center architectures (EVPN/VXLAN, ERB, CRB)Campus designs (Cisco Campus Fabric/SDA)SD-WAN (Cisco/Viptela, Versa, VeloCloud, Silver Peak)Security productsExperience with AI/ML-assisted network operations, AIOps platforms, or network observability toolingA builder mentality — side projects, home lab, personal automation or hardware projects are a genuine plus
