Overview In this Backend Dev role, you join a high-performance engineering team to deliver scalable, innovative solutions for customer experiences at BBY. You will collaborate with product, UX, and business stakeholders to design new functionality and validate system requirements, balancing rapid delivery with an operational mindset. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain robust, scalable backends and DevOps-centric delivery. The opportunity centers on shaping backend architectures that support growth and reliability, in a hybrid Minneapolis/Richfield setting. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with product, UX, and business teams to design and validate backend functionality at scalePartner with Commerce Platform BSAs, Product Managers, and Engineers to define new featuresDevelop with an emphasis on dev-ops readiness and reliable deliveryBuild and maintain scalable web backends and REST services using Java/Groovy and Spring BootEnsure code quality with unit tests and Continuous Integration/Deployment practicesWork in a Unix/Linux environment and troubleshoot operational issues Key requirementsStrong Core Java/Groovy with Spring Boot hands-on experience (5+ years)Experience building highly scalable web applications with attention to state, caching, concurrency, and inter-system dependenciesAdvanced Java/Groovy development techniques, patterns, and processesExperienced in developing/consuming RESTful services using Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Data JPA, Spring Integration, Spring Cloud Config)Strong unit-testing skills (JUnit/Spock)Proficiency with Unix/Linux command lineBS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience)Cross-functional collaborationProblem-solving mindsetStrong communication and teamworkJava/GroovySpring BootRESTful services
