AWS Cloud Architect – Cloud Modernization Specialist (AWS MAP)Location: US RemoteEmployment Type: Contract (1099) / Full-TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Architect to lead enterprise-scale cloud modernization initiatives under the AWS Modernization Acceleration Program (MAP). This role is focused on transforming legacy on-premises systems into scalable, secure, and cloud-native architectures using modern AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, modernization strategies, microservices transformation, and automation using AWS CDK with TypeScript. You will act as a technical leader driving modernization roadmaps, architecture governance, and engineering excellence across internal and vendor teams.⸻Key Responsibilities1. Cloud Modernization & Solution Architecture* Architect and design cloud-native solutions to modernize legacy applications and infrastructure.* Lead modernization initiatives within the AWS MAP framework, including migration of monolithic applications to microservices-based architectures.* Drive transformation from traditional .NET and SQL Server environments to modern platforms such as Amazon ECS with Fargate, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.* Conduct Modernization Readiness Assessments (MRA) and Experience-Based Acceleration (EBA) workshops.* Define best practices for scalability, resiliency, security, observability, and cost optimization.* Partner with stakeholders to create modernization roadmaps and technical strategies.2. Infrastructure as Code & Automation* Standardize infrastructure provisioning using AWS CDK with TypeScript.* Develop reusable CDK constructs and enterprise deployment frameworks.* Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security, compliance, and performance validation.* Automate infrastructure deployment, monitoring, governance, and operational processes.* Enforce infrastructure standards and cloud governance policies across environments.3. Cloud Engineering & Platform Services* Design and implement solutions using: * Amazon ECS with Fargate * AWS Lambda * Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL * Amazon S3 * VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, API Gateway, and other core AWS services* Optimize workloads for performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.* Implement observability and monitoring frameworks across cloud environments.
