We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Technical Specialist to support the design, development, and testing of advanced EV, hybrid, and related systems.Job SummaryAs an Electrical Technical Specialist, you’ll play a key role in the development of high-voltage battery packs, distribution systems, and system integration. You’ll work closely with engineers, technicians, and suppliers to design electrical systems, support controls development, and validate performance through hands-on testing and troubleshooting.ResponsibilitiesDesign and document electrical architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and component selections for Li-ion battery systems and HV distribution componentsLead and support system engineering activities, including requirements, DFMEAs, DVPs, and vehicle integrationAssist in controls and software development, including system calibration and troubleshootingSupport validation test planning and prototype testingUtilize tools such as SPICE/PSpice, LabVIEW, CAN tools, and battery test equipmentParticipate in hardware reviews, including PCB design using Altium (OrCAD or other experience may be considered)Develop and coordinate build, assembly, inspection, and test documentationCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful design and validationFollow lab and vehicle test procedures to evaluate system performance and interactionsSupport additional engineering activities as neededQualificationsEducation:Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering from an accredited institutionAlternative qualifications and experience may be consideredExperience:7–15 years of experience in electrical system design for electric or hybrid vehiclesProficient in system engineering methodologies and system architecture designExperience with tools and platforms including:MATLAB/Simulink/StateflowLabVIEWCAN tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANape)Controls platforms (MotoHawk, dSPACE, ETAS)SPICE/PSpiceExperience with high-voltage battery design, assembly, and service strongly preferredFamiliarity with vehicle control systems, EV industry standards, and military standards strongly preferredExperience with PCB design software (Altium) is a plusWhat You BringStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentA proactive mindset and attention to detailWhy Join HDS?Work on cutting-edge electrification and energy systemsCollaborate with a small, agile team of engineers and designersEnjoy a flexible work environment with opportunities for growthCompetitive compensation and project varietyApply TodayIf you're ready to contribute to the future of electrification and thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment, we’d love to hear from you.
