GenAI Product Policy Manager

Meta is seeking a product-focused strategist to join its Product Policy & Strategy team as a Product Policy Manager. In this role, you will provide direct policy counsel to product and engineering teams as they launch new multi-modal GenAI products and features. You'll achieve this by collaborating with a range of cross-functional stakeholders, including policy, product, legal, communications, design, and marketing teams. Successful candidates will have expertise in AI technologies and tech policy, with an understanding of the AI policy and regulatory landscape, including industry trends. They will also thrive in a fast-paced environment and share our vision of building the future of human connection through transformative technology.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in political science, policy, law, communications, computer science or related field4+ years of experience working in public policy, policy enforcement, law, government, national security, law enforcement, product design, product management or related fieldUnderstanding of AI policy and technology policy, including key stakeholders, research initiatives, and relevant industry trendsExperience working autonomously and cross-functionally to develop policies and apply analytical thinking to solve ambiguous, complex problemsExperience with consensus building in a highly matrixed environmentPreferred Qualifications8+ years of experience and a Master's degree or PhD in political science, policy, law, computer science or related fieldExperience developing policies for governing multi-modal (image, video, audio) generative AI productsPossess communication skills with demonstrated experience communicating with product managers, engineers, researchers, and executivesProficiency in crafting formal policy documentation for a wide-ranging audienceExperience advising on AI technologies and other online products and platforms in a product policy roleExperience dealing with escalationsExperience articulating policies and their reasoning to various audiences effectivelyExperience in adversarial simulation and red-teaming methodologiesDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesResponsibilitiesProvide policy guidance that protects and promotes free expression in GenAI products/features, while minimizing business risks and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and policy environmentsDevelop and implement forward-thinking policies to govern multi-modal GenAI products and featuresCreate clear risk assessments and build scalable frameworks to operationalize a consistent set of mitigations across a broad range of productsWork with software engineers, designers, lawyers, product managers, and others to help product teams address policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, and marketing considerationsAct as an escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issuesAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
