Setup Operator
Position Summary:
The Set-Up Operator is responsible for setting up and operating metal forming, shaping, and bending equipment to produce high-quality metal components. This role supports efficient production by preparing machines, adjusting tooling, and ensuring material runs to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently set up metal forming and bending machines for production runs
Adjust, replace, and troubleshoot tooling, rollers, and machine components to ensure proper run rates and product quality
Follow setup instructions, blueprints, spec sheets, and production orders to ensure accurate finished goods
Perform machine operation duties as needed (Machine Operator I & II tasks)
Conduct in-process and final quality checks, using measuring tools to verify accuracy
Complete setup sheets, production logs, and inspection forms
Communicate issues to supervisors and assist with problem-solving to reduce downtime
Qualifications:
Prior machine setup and operation experience in manufacturing preferred
Ability to read blueprints, spec sheets, and production instructions
Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills
Ability to perform precision measurements (calipers, gauges, tape measure, etc.)
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 per hour
