Building Engineer

SUMMARY: The Building Engineer will maintain and repair physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds by providing general repairs to the facilities as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facilities equipment and systems. · Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues. · Consults blueprints or building plans to identify best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues. · Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly. · Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training. · Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility. · Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies. · Paints interior and exterior walls and trim. · Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: · None Qualifications · High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. · Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain high levels of productivity without direct supervision. · Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair. · Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals. · Ability to use hand tools and power tools. · Detail oriented. · Able to work in a team environment and take direction. · Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift. · Able to maintain balance, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and wipe. · Commercial Real Estate experience a plus. PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: · Prolonged periods of standing and walking. · Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces. · Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. · Frequent exposure to loud noises. · Must be able 50 pounds at a time.
