Job SummaryThe Associate Director of University Advisement is responsible for being highly accessible, integrating services and programs in academic advising, student intervention and support, professional integrations for student development, academic integrations for student development, and social integration for student development. The Associate Director supervises a team of staff that will also provide these services in a detailed and tailored approach, positing mentorship as a key relationship dynamic and providing an intentional standard of care. These services and programs will support student success, self-efficacy, and a transformational college experience, maximizing the student-centered approach and deepening connection to the Mercy University community through all years of enrollment matriculation.Essential Job Functions & ResponsibilitiesEvery effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position responsibilities if the work is similar, related, or is an essential function of the position.Support students in their transition to the University and integrate new students into the academic, social, and professional aspects of the University, resulting in improved retention and graduation outcomes.Provide the academic advisement of students, specifically through the progression of the initial deposit and registration upon acceptance to major/degree selection as it pertains to academic and professional pursuits.Provide cohort intervention programs and lead student achievement planning for probation statuses, dismissals, and other potential departures from the University.Intervene with holistic advice on matters regarding college student readiness, which includes but is not limited to financial literacy, academic readiness, and preparatory characteristics, to identify solutions for student success.Support students' career exploration resources and advisement, resulting in a timely career track relative/paralleled to academic pursuits.Provide student engagement programs and services, resulting in a quality experience for Mercy students.Work specifically with the assigned student caseload portfolio.Assist in evaluating strategies and programs and implement changes as necessary.Hire, train, and manage staff performance.Provide opportunities for engagement through clubs and activities.Any other related duties as assignedRequired Skills & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of approximately related experience required.Experience in student services and advisement will be given preference. Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience is required.
