You will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating production processes, conducting inspections, and implementing quality control measures to maintain our high standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us deliver exceptional products to our customers.Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards as well as HAACP compliance and other food safety and workplace safety initiativesMonitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.Identify, document, and report any deviations from quality standards and work with production teams to implement corrective actions.Assist with weekly pre-operation checks and ATP verification swabbingAssist with environmental sampling (water, air, product, equipment, etc)Implement hold procedures in response to quality deviations or food safety risksSTOP production if our quality standards are not metCommunicate findings to key personnel to correct any system problems, throughput or quality issues to ensure all products produced meet established quality requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and improve processes.Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures.Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.Perform housekeeping throughout work areaUtilize Lockout/Tagout when tasks requirePerform additional duties as neededWhat you'll need:High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred.2-year degree in laboratory / food science, or equivalent prior experience in food quality assuranceAbility to read and interpret documents such as SOPs and QA paperwork.Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).Effective verbal and written communication skills in EnglishDemonstrates sound judgment in decision making.Demonstrate proper use of Lockout/Tagout proceduresAbility to engage and collaborate positively with all levels and departments.Understanding standards and measurements.Math and computer skills.Reliable and consistent attendance.Lift up to 60 poundsStand for long periods of time up to 10 hoursProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Abide by company GMP and PPE policiesWho we are:Since 1849, America has trusted the Gorton's Fisherman.
