Position Summary: Failure Analysis EngineerLocation: Nashua, NHAmphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, highbandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMsglobally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design,sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking anexperienced Failure Analysis Engineer to join our Product Development team. Theposition will be located in Nashua, NH.RESPONSIBILITIES:As a Failure Analysis Engineer you will provide the lead in investigation ofconnector failures through inspection, testing and analysis of data.Perform root cause analysis of failed connectorsCreate a failure analysis process and database to capture historical dataand utilize for future failure analysesInterface with customers to understand the issues and inform them on thestatus, root cause, and solutionConfirm diagnoses through testing and inspectionPrepare test samples and test requests and work with test lab technicians.Suggest corrective actions to design, process, inspection etcWork with engineers from other disciplines to help with root causeProcess and analyze testing results and create reports and presentations forinternal and external customers.Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnelRequest and review 8Ds from suppliersQUALIFICATIONS:BS/MS Mechanical Engineering5 - 10 years of experience with failure analysis and/or electricalconnectorsExperience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or Solidworks would be aplusExperience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plusExperience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stressesExperience specifying testing protocol in automotive or consumer industrieswould be a plusAbility to communicate with technical & non-technical peopleAbility to work in team environmentDesire to solve problems and identify solutionsKnowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplasticswould be a plusBasic understanding of electrical connectors
