eUICC Testing Engineer Intern

Please note: This will be a paid internship and you must be located in the Richmond, VA area. This will require a hybrid schedule (in-office 3 days per week). The Summer Internship will run from 6/1 - 8/7 or 8/14 (depending on intern school schedules).KORE is seeking an eUICC Testing Engineer Intern to support cellular Internet of Things (IoT) device certification and testing initiatives across global carrier ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of IoT engineering, telecom certification, and lab operations, with direct exposure to eSIM (eUICC) technologies and real-world carrier certification workflows.You will work alongside the Co-Chair of the PTCRB IoT Working Group who is responsible for defining PTCRB certification requirements for IoT devices as well as certification engineers, product teams, and external laboratories to execute testing, manage certification artifacts, and support device approvals across global carrier networks such as Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and others throughout the world.This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role, not theoretical. Expect to engage in both technical testing and process orchestration, reflecting how certification operates in production environmentsCORE ACCOUNTABILITIESCore Responsibilities1. Certification Testing ExecutionSupporteUICC(GSMASGP.02, SGP.32) and M2M certification testing for IoT devicesExecute functional test cases including:Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) validationOTA / FOTA validationNetwork performance test scenariosAssistin capturing and analyzing logs (e.g.,Compriontools, carrier logs)Validate device behavior against certification requirements prior to submission2. Certification Project CoordinationAssistin managing end-to-end certification workflowsTrack certification progress across:PTCRB submissionsCarrier-specific certification (e.g., Verizon Fast Track)Support internal coordination between:EngineeringProductCustomers / OEM ManufacturersExternal labs3. Documentation & CompliancePrepare andmaintaincertification artifacts, including:Device compliance matricesTest reports and logsCarrier submission documentationReuse and adapt prior certification artifacts to accelerate approvalsEnsure alignment with:GSMA / CTIA(PTCRB)industrystandardsFCC /GovernmentRegulatoryrequirementsCarrier-specific compliance (e.g., Verizon IoT security, FOTA)4. Lab & Carrier Liaison SupportCoordinate with third-party labs (e.g., SGS) for test executionAssistin communication with carrier certification teamsSupport troubleshooting during certification cyclesHelp interpret test results and feedback loops with carriers5.
