Engineer – IT Infrastructure Operations (Network/Voice)
Location: Honolulu, HI
Overview
This role is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of enterprise network systems. The environment is currently Cisco-based but is undergoing a strategic transition to Juniper, particularly for SD-WAN and potentially campus networking. The engineer will support day-to-day operations while playing a key role in this network evolution.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support production network systems (LAN/WAN, voice, security), ensuring high availability and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, coordinating with internal teams and vendors
Implement system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in alignment with IT standards
Support design, deployment, and integration of network solutions across routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and security
Assist in the transition from Cisco to Juniper (SD-WAN and campus), including configuration and migration support
Monitor system performance and develop alerting/reporting for proactive issue resolution
Participate in system design, testing, and lifecycle management, including upgrades and disaster recovery
Collaborate with business units to deliver scalable, business-aligned network solutions
Manage vendor relationships and ensure service delivery aligns with SLAs
Maintain system documentation, configurations, and procedures Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking (routing, switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VoIP)
Experience with network security technologies (VPN, ISE, or similar)
Proven experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting
Willingness and ability to support/learn Juniper technologies as part of a network transformation
Familiarity with network monitoring, IP management, load balancing, and virtualization
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Juniper networking (SD-WAN, campus switching) or similar platforms
Experience supporting network transformation or vendor migrations (e.g., Cisco to Juniper)
Background in vendor management and infrastructure project execution
Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
