Staff Software Test Engineer - ADAS Infrastructure Compliance
Job DescriptionAbout Us:ADAS Infrastructure validation team supports the validation testing of ADAS controllers in the domains of Serial Communication, Diagnostics, Cybersecurity, OTA and vehicle safety. Testing can be conducted on open loop, close loop HIL benches or SIL platform. Test automation is continuously updated to ensure comprehensive test coverage and early issue detection.The Role:The role requires the ability to lead the team technically to achieve validation excellence and deliver timely validation results to meet program milestones. The role also requires working independently/cross-functionally, developing new projects for the team to execute, and efficiently reporting any issue for timely resolution. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to grow and develop career by working with various branches of the AV organization and the latest ADAS technology.What You'll Do (Responsibilities):Work collaboratively with Reguirement Owner/SME, Calibration, System Safety, Platform/APP software and tool teams to implement appropriate test plans for validation executionIdentify opportunities and drive alignment across GM validation organizations on test methodologies to maximize collaboration and efficienciesGather and analyze requirements/test inputs, assess validation feasibility and troubleshoot issuesIdentify testing gaps at the organizational level and propose solutions to provide coverage and propagate those solutions across other validation organizationsTrack and make visible SW issue sources and drive improvements in upstream processesAct as the validation testing SME for the team and develop best practice for the teamDesign test setup for new validation programs on either Open-Loop, HIL and SIL benchesManage validation projects including validation timing, bench readiness, simulation environment/tool readiness, test automation readiness, and regular validation status reporting or escalationTrain other team members on analyzing test results and participate in data-driven system development initiativesDetermine scrum priorities and apply various testing in the sprint, such as smoke, sanity, regression and feature based testingMonitor SW rollout and QA testing from various teams, platform/APP/IntegrationConduct Delta Questionnaire to determine validation required for MY changes in softwareOwn validation roadmap for the teamChampion Ideation/Innovation workshop within the team and drive continuous improvementDeliver validation result on time with quality to the internal customers including Software readiness, Issue documentation and test reportYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in Software/Computer/Electrical/Embedded Systems/Electronics Engineering or equivalent field7+ year experience with Black Box testing, software testing and test automation or related experiencePrior software experience, preferably in Python with exposure to bash and Jenkins automationKnowledge and experience with System on Chip (SoC) SW and communication protocols like CAN and EthernetKnowledge of system engineering and its application in SW validation testingKnowledge and experience in compliance testing on open loop, HIL and SIL benchesKnowledge of vehicle safety testing, serial data communications, diagnostics, cybersecurity, OTA and reprogramming for ADAS controllersKnowledge of calibration/MAC/ARXML/ODX and their impact in testingAbility to anticipate problems & escalade issues timelyAbility to identify and apply new technology to improve validation efficiency and qualityAbility to independently investigate issues based on limited information, demonstrating high level of analytical ability to resolve complex problemsAbility to juggle frequent urgent requests and fast-paced changes in SW developmentAbility to communicate at different levels of organization efficientlyBe creative, disciplined and have a strong sense of responsibility & timing commitmentWhat Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and PowertrainExperience with Linux or QNX OS/file systemExperience with test tool such as CANoe, Vehicle Spy, INCA, AutoVALExposure to the Adaptive AUTOSAR service-based vehicle platformExposure to C/C++ languageExposure to CI/CD development methodologiesExperience with scrum operation7+ year experience with Black Box testing, software testing and test automation or related experience#GM-AV-1Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.The salary range for this role: is $134,700 to $207,600.
