Cloud Engineer II (Journeyman)

Overview of position:The Cloud Engineer II supports the execution of a phased migration of operational systems from a legacy Centralized Enclave into a cloud environment hosted in AWS. This role focuses on hands-on infrastructure provisioning, environment configuration, testing support, and sustainment activities under the direction of senior engineers. This position contributes directly to environment buildout, validation, and day-to-day operational readiness tasks while supporting continued sustainment residual enclave services through final decommissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesProvision and configure AWS infrastructure using Terraform under approved designs and standardsSupport sustainment of residual enclave services, including file-transfer stubs, printer services, and scanner endpoints until decommissioningSupport migration activities for application, database, and supporting infrastructure tiersAssist with preparation and execution of functional, integration, and acceptance testing in non-production environmentsImplement and maintain CI/CD pipeline components in GitLab for infrastructure and application deploymentsSupport data migration activities, including validation, staging, and post-migration checksConfigure and monitor secure file transfer services using AWS Transfer Family and approved toolsAssist with creation and maintenance of technical documentation, diagrams, and configuration artifactsSupport ORR and PRR preparation by executing validation tasks and producing supporting evidenceMonitor infrastructure health and operational dashboards during burn-in and sustainment periodsParticipate in sprint execution, daily standups, and backlog-driven taskingQualificationsExperience/Skills:4–6 years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experienceExperience supporting AWS-based environments in regulated or Government settingsExperience supporting testing, validation, or deployment activitiesWorking knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts and TerraformFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflowsDegrees Required: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experiencePreferred Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate or similar certificationClearance:Active Secret Security Clearance is required.Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).Benefits:MedicalDentalVision401K with 4% matchPaid Time Off (PTO)Life and Disability InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Dependent Care Reimbursement ProgramGroup Term Life InsuranceSupplemental Life and A&D InsuranceShort & Long Term DisabilityLife Discount ProgramFEDITC, LLC. is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment.
