Facilities Assoicate
Pharmarcists Mutual Insurance has an opening for a Facilities Associate. This role will perform a variety of manual labor tasks of routine difficulty in support of the maintenance of Company facilities and performs related duties as assigned.
· Entry Level.
· Performs general housekeeping including and not limited to office areas, bathrooms, and breakrooms throughout the main office.
· Learns preventative maintenance in areas of HVAC, basic electrical, plumbing, and equipment repair.
· Learns basic building repairs such as sheet rock, painting, and roof repair/patching.
Essential Functions
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Parking lot maintenance, grounds care and upkeep.
· Cleans, collects trash, and vacuums.
· Assists with carpet shampooing.
· Parking lot maintenance, grounds care and upkeep.
· Assists with telephone and computer cabling projects.
· Basic wiring and plumbing repairs.
· Ice control with sidewalks and related areas.
· Snow-blowing and shoveling.
· Preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
· Hazardous chemical and biohazard handling.
· Equipment and furniture moving and installation.
· Changes filters, tests and treats water coolers.
· Ordering and restocking maintenance supplies.
· Assists in the management of contractors in order to complete Maintenance projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of the materials, tools, and methods used in building maintenance and repair and the methods and procedures used for general cleaning and maintaining housekeeping standards.
· Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools and other equipment necessary to accomplish assigned duties.
· Performs routine building maintenance and cleaning; wears safety equipment as needed.
· Ability to use computer as needed.
· Basic to intermediate knowledge of handling relationships with contractors and/or vendors.
· Uses initiative and applies innovative thinking.
· Ability to organize and prioritize work; be self-motivated and work independently.
· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships in a team environment through written and oral communication.
· Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.
· Works independently to make critical decisions and analyze complex issues.
· Determines when to escalate concerns to the appropriate level of management.
· Reads and interprets plans and documents such as operating instructions and maintenance manuals and procedures.
Experience and Education Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
· Must possess and maintain all required licenses and certificates as mandated by state and federal laws or as required by the Company
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
· Vision sufficient with correction to read small print in communications, policies and on the computer screen
· Hearing or other means sufficient to understand conversations in person and over the telephone
· Speech sufficient to make oneself heard in person and over the telephone
· Mobility sufficient to move around in an office setting
· Dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment
· Strength sufficient to lift and carry routine office equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
· Endurance sufficient to maintain productivity throughout entire shift
Work Environment
· Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting
· Work may involve travel to attend meetings at other locations
· Primary work environment will be indoors; however, work also takes place outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Work involves exposure to cleaning chemicals, unpleasant smells, fumes, noise, dirt, grease, oils, sharp edges, and broken glass.
· May be assigned to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
· Must wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
