Controls Technician
Bradley Professional is currently seeking a Controls Technician for a great company located in Concord, NC. Primary SkillsAssociate's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or equivalent experience2-5 years of industrial automation experience (wire & cable industry preferred) Position SummaryThis position supports the implementation, wiring, debugging and commissioning of automation equipment. The Controls Technician works closely with Controls Engineers and the project team to ensure machines are built, wired, programmed and tested to meet project requirements, customer expectations and TDC standards. Role ResponsibilitiesBuild, wire and troubleshoot electrical control panels and machine wiring per electrical printsAssist with PLC and HMI program downloads, updates and basic modificationsDebug machine functionality during assembly and startup (I/O checkout, device verification, safety validation)Support commissioning activities both in house and at customer sitesTroubleshoot electrical and controls issues on automation equipment (drives, I/O, sensors, safety circuits)Verify field wiring and ensure compliance with electrical standards and printsWork with Controls Engineers to implement and test control system functionalityAssist in tuning basic control loops (drives, simple PID, motion systems)Document issues, changes and field modifications during build and startupSupport FAT and SAT activities to ensure machine readinessProvide feedback to engineering on design improvement and recurring issuesMaintain a clean and organized work area, following safety standardsQualifications DesiredAssociate's Degree or Technical Certification (preferred)2+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls technician roleStrong electrical troubleshooting skills (REQUIRED)Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagramsBasic PLC/HMI experience (Allen Bradley preferred-Studio 5000, FactoryTalk)Familiarity with VFDs (e.g PowerFlex), servo systems (Kinetix), and distributed I/O (Point/I/O, Ethernet/IP)Experience with sensors, safety circuits and field devices. Ability to use electrical test equipment (multimeter, megger, etc)Ability to work hands-on in a fast paced build and startup environmentStrong communication skills and ability to work within a team. TravelTravels i required for onsite commissioning and support Majority of travel is within 2 hours of Concord, NC
