Monterey Schools Summer program - 3 weeks
Summer Camp Instructors needed to lead our Handbuilding with Air Dry Clay program and Outdoor Explorers at Monterey Elementary schools. We are looking for people who will share our passion for education and positive encouragement.
We’re hiring enthusiastic individuals for three weeks of camp, June 8- June 30 in Monterey Peninsula USD. Whether you're a teacher, college student, or someone with childcare experience, we welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds who love fostering learning and fun, We offer competitive pay and are looking for qualified Instructors to run a fun program centered around handbuilding with clay.
The program invites young artists to explore the tactile, creative world of clay through age-appropriate hands on projects. We are also offering an Outdoor Explorer style program that spends more time in nature, interacting and engaging. We will provide training, daily curriculum, games and materials for each class.
Students are grouped by grade level (TK-5th) with class ratio of 1:20.
What you will be doing:
Lead the class for students that incorporates mindfulness and experimenting with clay. We will be doing a couple types of handbuilding techniques, painting and a lot of fun.
What we are looking for:
Experience working with groups of kids
College students, teachers, TAs, retirees, parents, are encouraged to apply
Effective group management skills
Energetic, kind, and patient personality
Punctual and reliable, with access to a reliable form of transportation
What your schedule will look like: Monday through Friday 8:30-12:30 Typically four groups of maximum 20 students for 55 minutes each during this time.
Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of two years of college courses or equivalent education completed, experience working with groups of students, and be able to communicate with students clearly.
