JOB DESCRIPTION
Loader Operator
Shift: Day Shift
Responsibilities:
Communicates effectively with delivery drivers to ensure proper unloading procedures are safely executed
Perform and record daily maintenance of loaders which includes lubrication, fueling and cleaning machines.
Communicate to maintenance any areas where the loader isn’t operating properly.
Identify and mark materials, products and samples, following instructions.
Operate wheel loader in a safe manner by understanding levers and controls.
Load materials into machines or onto conveyors ensuring safety procedures are followed.
Transfer materials and products to and from areas around the mill according to delivery timeframes.
Tag or stamp, measure and record measurements for shipment to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
Evaluate log characteristics and determine grades, using established criteria.
Identify logs of substandard or special grade so they can be transferred for other processing.
Work to provide sufficient raw materials/logs to the mill for operations.
Communicate with coworkers by using signals to direct log movement.
Keep the wood yard graded as needed to ensure efficient operations.
Assist to ensure all wood meets BTC wood quality standards and specifications including visual and physical inspections.
Be able to lift 50 pounds.
Follow all operational safety standards.
Understand how to visually inspect logs at a fast pace.
Loading rail cars and containers
Load and unload wood
Inspect product load for accuracy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
