Job Title: Telecom DesignerLocation: 1 Tesla Road Austin TX 78725 (Gigafactory and HQ) Face to face interview Duration: 12 months then conversionEmployment Type: Contract or Contract to Hire Job Responsibilities of this position Include:At Tesla our Telecom Designers work on various projects around the company. This position will play a critical role in the entire design process including preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, problem resolution, drawing and specification production, and construction administration. Responsible to complete project assignments with minimal supervision as well as give directions to support staff to complete a projectAbility to provide support to local projects, as well as assisting team members in other projects across the companyPrepare drawing packages including site, floor plans, enlarged communication room layouts, equipment rack/cabinet layouts elevations, backbone schematic and infrastructure design details.?Knowledge of Division 27 & 28 Systems specificationsPrepare cable pathway fill calculations.?Prepare opinions of probable costs.Coordinate the network infrastructure design with other engineering disciplines; civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural and door locking hardware.Conduct field surveys/reports during programming, construction, and post-construction phases to ensure company best practices are maintained.Ensure conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and constructionWork within a team environment to ensure Tesla standards are met and that all technology systems are incorporated into the overall system designServe as a technical resource for others throughout the companyDevelop and design within a BIM design environment, Revit and Navisworks knowledge requiredWork with BIM modelers in design development and documentationCollaborate with the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to completion including meeting attendance, site visits, response to RFIs, submittal review and responsesJob Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field or experience in this field.Registered Communications Distribution Designercertification.3+ years of relevant experience as an RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or similar experienceFluency in Autodesk CAD (computer-aided drafting & design) programs including Revit, evizto, AutoCAD.Deep understanding of communications system design.
