Assistant Labratory Manager

We're searching for an Assistant Labratory Manager, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, responsible for managing laboratory staff, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring all operations adhere to strict safety and quality standards.Think you've got what it takes?Job Duties & Responsibilities• Leads daily laboratory activities, including workflow optimization, staff scheduling, and resource allocation• Follows all safety requirements and performs all job duties in a safe manner• Performs personnel air sampling, digestion, and analytical techniques• Conducts high-volume air sampling, digestion, and analytical techniques• Performs groundwater and wastewater sampling, digestion, and analytical techniques, including sampling at SLC and KWR Wastewater Treatment Plants in accordance with requirements• Operates and maintains SO2 room instrumentation in compliance with regulations• Utilizes Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy, Mercury Hydride, and Graphite Furnace Spectroscopy• Conducts TCLP testing (slag and filter cake), 5-day BOD studies, and hands-on research and development• Demonstrates knowledge of scrubber and desulphurization operations, including sieve analysis, chlorides, specific gravity, pH, TSS, and loss on ignitionSkills & Requirements• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a relevant discipline in Biology required; master's preferred• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, including 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role• Must pass a Homeland Security background check and a pre-employment drug screening• Must pass general Health, Safety, and Environmental pre-employment exams
