Controls Engineer
General SummaryThis position will facilitate the maintenance, adjustment, and expansion of facility's PLC based machine control and data collection functions.Principle Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordination, design, implementation, and monitoring of all equipment controls improvements and upgrades at the facilityCoordination, design, implementation, and monitoring of all process data collection systems for the facility. Management and implementations of the AB second level control systems.Participate in capital planning / improvements at the facility.Assist operations personnel in start-ups and controls / electrical troubleshooting.Project management of capital improvements at the facilityAdvisement and participation in robotic and automation installationsKnowledge, Skill, And Ability RequirementsMust have working knowledge of process controls technology (both current and past) Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of controls hardware - Relay logic, PLCs, ControlLogix, Frequency Drives etc. Allen Bradley is the PLC platform.Must have experience with controls and user interface software (RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, PanelView, and others. RSView And FactoryTalk View experience a plus.)Must have experience with Ethernet, DH+ and RIO control networks. Must have working knowledge of manufacturing power distribution systems.Needs to be able to converse with IT personnel (networks, Ethernet, etc.) on interfacing issues.Knowledge of high voltage systems and distribution a plus.Knowledge of utility systems (water, air, hydraulic, etc.) a plusMust have good verbal and written communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals within the facility.Experience with Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.Able to manage multiple tasks at a time.Understands and can meet deadline-oriented business transactions.Team player.Working ConditionsThe Controls Engineer will reside in the office and on the production floor for installations and troubleshooting. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.Education And Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentFive years of hands-on Industrial PLC experience and responsibility in a manufacturing environment.AB programming training
