Job DescriptionResponsible for the overall clinical management of the assigned practice and related programs, including direct supervision of all medical clinical providers. Monitors the practice and on-site programs to ensure achievement of organizational access goals, quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, training programs, and research initiatives.Maintains an active clinical practice at the assigned site and fulfills all responsibilities of an attending physician. Allocation of administrative and clinical time is determined based on the size and scope of programs at the site and assigned by the supervising medical director.Schedule includes at least one evening session per week and one weekend day per month, unless otherwise approved by the supervisor.RequirementsSpecific Responsibilities Include:Management ResponsibilitiesDirect supervision of all providers assigned to the practice as their primary site.Conducts semiannual evaluations and annual competency evaluations for assigned providers.Organizes monthly provider meetings with documented minutes.Participates in monthly office management meetings with nursing and administrative leadership.Collaborates with all applicable clinical disciplines (e.g., dental, psychiatry, and other clinical staff).Monitors And Manages MonthlySite quality performance metrics.Regulatory compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA), including review of delinquent encounters, provider documentation, consultation reports, and incident reports.Accurate assignment of providers' clinical hours as required.Provider productivity and patient access.Provider quality performance (Peer Review and Clinical Registries).Ongoing Provider Performance Evaluation at the practice site.Provider management of EMR inbox and patient portal communications.Clinical performance of training programs and trainees in collaboration with program directors (e.g., residency programs, medical student rotations), when applicable.Clinical performance and impact of research programs operating at the site, when applicable.Hiring and evaluation of practice staff in collaboration with nursing, social work, and administrative managers.Review of patient complaints, incidents, and participation in Environment of Care (EOC) rounds.Communication with supervising medical leadership regarding provider or practice needs.Attendance at leadership and medical director meetings as assigned.Clinical ResponsibilitiesMaintains an active medical practice with assigned weekly clinical sessions.Demonstrates competency in the following areas:Medical KnowledgeDemonstrates strong foundational clinical knowledge and application of Evidence-Based Medicine.Exhibits sound clinical judgment.Utilizes appropriate consultative services.Remains current with medical literature.Clinical PracticeProvides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care.Maintains accessibility to patients and staff.Maintains high-quality medical records.Demonstrates strong clinical and technical skills.Achieves excellent quality performance and patient access metrics in alignment with organizational initiatives.Interpersonal and Communication SkillsEstablishes and maintains professional, courteous, and respectful relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and healthcare team members.Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and professional responsibility toward patients, the profession, and the community.ProfessionalismEngages in continuous professional development (minimum 50 CME hours per year).Completes medical records in a timely manner.Complies with open encounter and peer review policies.Responds promptly to patient portal communications.Adheres to organizational policies and regulations.Attends required clinical site and program meetings.Systems-Based PracticeDemonstrates understanding of healthcare systems and applies this knowledge to optimize patient care.Advocates for quality care on behalf of patients and the organization.Utilizes healthcare resources appropriately and efficiently.Practice-Based Learning and ImprovementApplies scientific evidence to evaluate and improve patient care.Participates in quality improvement initiatives, clinical registries, and core measure compliance.Demonstrates knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.Teaching and TrainingPrecepts residents, medical students, and other healthcare trainees as appropriate.Participates in faculty meetings and educational activities as required.Education RequiredGraduate of an accredited medical school and accredited residency program.Experience And/Or Skills RequiredDemonstrated effective supervisory skills of clinicians.Superior clinical skills.Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict management skills.Excellent computer proficiency.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.Prior clinical supervisory experience preferred.Prior leadership experience and demonstrated effectiveness in Continuous Quality Improvement preferred.Licenses / Certifications RequiredActive and unrestricted state medical license.Board certification in the respective specialty preferred.Current BCLS certification.Current DEA certificate.
