Electric Motor Winder ($5,000 Sign on Bonus)

Based in Phoenix, AZ, you'll be the hands behind every motor rebuild—cutting out failed windings, manufacturing precision coils, and running VPI cycles that bring AC and DC motors back to full performance. We believe in rewarding your hard work on a weekly basis, no more waiting for bi-weekly pay cycles.Variety of Work:From coil manufacturing and surge testing to VPI operations and mechanical assembly, no two days look the same.Hands-On Skilled Trade:Work with precision measuring tools, winding machines, bake ovens, and VPI systems—this role puts your technical abilities to use every day.Career Growth:Access training programs and advancement opportunities designed to help you build a long-term career in the industrial trades.What You'll DoCut out, clean, and evaluate stators and armatures from failed AC and DC motors, including medium voltage equipmentRemove, label, and document coils, leads, and insulation materials for accurate rebuild processesInspect core laminations and record visual and mechanical findings to determine repair scopeManufacture, form, and shape coils using appropriate winding techniques, tools, and specificationsMeasure, cut, and install slot paper and phase insulation in accordance with winding data sheetsInstall coils into stator or armature slots with proper alignment, fit, and insulation integrityTie, lace, and connect coil ends using industry-standard practices for durability and performancePerform electrical testing, including surge and resistance testing, to verify coil integrity and performancePrepare motors for varnish processes and operate bake ovens per shop and safety standardsExecute Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) cycles, including setup, vacuum, and pressure stagesAccurately document test data, VPI cycle information, and quality checksTrim, solder, and insulate leads according to specificationsSupport mechanical assembly, including installation of bearings, endbells, and related componentsMaintain inventory of winding materials and communicate supply needs to leadershipMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standardsWhat You'll NeedHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or EET coursework preferred1-3+ years of experience in motor winding, including AC/DC motors and medium voltage applicationsStrong understanding of electrical principles, motor components, and insulation systemsAbility to read and interpret winding data sheets, specifications, and technical drawingsExperience with coil manufacturing, installation, and insulation processesProficiency in electrical testing methods, including surge and resistance testingComfortable operating winding machines, bake ovens, and VPI systemsAbility to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipersStrong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and qualityAbility to work independently and handle complex repair workAbility to lift up to 50 lbs unassistedFrequent standing, bending, and handling of motor componentsAbility to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to heat, noise, and varnish fumes (with proper PPE)Why Join OTC Industrial Technologies?Comprehensive Benefits:Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision care coverage, short-and long-term disability coverage, and life insurance.
