Performance & Reliability Engineer
Overview:
In this role you drive performance engineering across critical applications, shaping how they meet reliability targets. You will define performance test strategies and embed testing into the delivery lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve production stability. You'll translate metrics into actionable improvements and create visibility through proactive dashboards. This position offers the chance to influence cost and performance at scale within a technology-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement performance test strategies (load, stress, endurance, scalability) for critical apps and services
- Design, script, and execute tests using JMeter with Groovy/Beanshell/Java extensions
- Collaborate with development and architecture to set SLAs, KPIs, and baselines for measurable improvements
- Configure, monitor, and analyze metrics with AppDynamics, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, and Splunk; perform root cause analysis
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Jenkins); automate execution and results publishing; manage regression checks
Key requirements:
10+ years of technology experience focused on performance engineering and APMHands-on JMeter performance testing with scripting/customization using Groovy, Beanshell, or Java Proficiency with AWS and cloud performance validation across ECS, EKS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, AuroraDB, and RDSExperience with monitoring/APM tools: AppDynamics, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk; strong root cause analysis Experience integrating tests into CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions or Jenkins); tracking delivery in Jira and qTest where applicablestrong problem-solvingclear communicationability to collaborate across cross-functional teamsJMeterGroovyBeanshell
