R&D Technologist – Product Development is responsible for developing new yeast derivatives used in food, animal nutrition, and fermentation applications.In This Exciting Role You WillDevelop new products and processes based on yeast or other raw materialsIndependently conduct research projects: plan and execute experiments at lab and pilot scaleOptimize existing production processesApply biocatalytic processes (enzymes)Analyze products using chromatographic and photometric methods, including independent method developmentFunctionally characterize new products (rheological analysis, nutritional properties, sensory evaluation)Independently research scientific literatureDocument and present experimental results within the companyContinuously develop your skills to stay up to date with the latest technologiesExpand our network of partners at universities, CDMOs, start-ups etc. and foster new collaborationsTravel to existing/new partners in the US, participate at conferences/trade shows, etc. Work closely with Ohly-colleagues from application in ChicagoYou Should HaveMaster of Science in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, or equivalentRelevant professional experienceInitial experience with statistical experimental design (DoE)Motivated and eager to learn continuouslyAnalytical mindsetStrong communication skillsExperience in planning and conducting research projectsStructured working styleAbility to quickly adapt to changing prioritiesFluent in English (spoken and written)Nice To Haveexpertise in enzymatic catalysis is a plusWe look forward to your application including information about your earliest possible start date and salary expectations!
