NGM - Safety & Health Trainer (Underground Training Mine)

You’ll deliver hands-on training, check that people understand the work, and make sure everything meets company and regulatory requirements.You’ll work closely with different teams to build skills across the workforce and help create a strong safety culture at our mine sites. We’re committed to making sure everyone goes home safe every day and to being a positive part of the communities where we work.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and implementation of training programs that have a Competency Based approach. Facilitate classroom, field-based, and simulator training on equipment, tasks, and procedures.Ensure that employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform their assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.Conduct Verification of Competency assessments for individuals at site.Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations and NGM standards.Facilitate task training in classroom and field environment settings.Ability to adjust training techniques based on learning style types to optimize trainee’s learning experience and information retention.Excellent and demonstrated personal commitment to Health, Safety, and Training.Assist in the standardization and review of divisional procedures, guidelines, and observation templates.Assist and verify training standardization within respective division while collaborating with other divisional representatives.Conduct evaluations of fellow trainers to support growth and development.Audit and review training courses, materials, and programs for continuous improvement.Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard identification, and task specific training courses.Conduct physical truck training and operate the truck simulator.Participate with alignment of site initiatives or mandates including SOPs and Training Manuals.Conduct interactions with NGM personnel and assist in line-out meetings.Mentor Crew and Site Trainers as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Complete assigned training and other curriculum as necessary. QualificationsFive (5) years of heavy equipment operation in the mining industry or similar heavy industry experience. RequiredOne (1) year of training experience. PreferredCompetent computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. PreferredProven experience working with peer groups and focus teams. RequiredAbility to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines. RequiredExcellent leadership, influencing skills and promoting safety by leading by example. RequiredProven safe work record. RequiredDemonstrates ability to analyze and confidently present data in a manner to promote learning for individuals in the program.
