Application InstructionsPlease click the APPLY NOW button above and complete the application to be considered for this job opening.Position DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTIONOverview:The Field Engineer's primary role is to support the Construction Manager and Project Manager in smooth execution of a project. This individual is a clearing house for solving engineering/ field discrepancies and managing them and CO cost with subs on Behalf of the project team. Taking ownership and driving discrepancies to resolution in a timely manner is what success in this role will look like.In this role experience matters. This individual will live in the details and generate solutions to problems for presentation and acceptance from the client and their engineers. Ownership from initial discovery of the discrepancy to resolution will be critical.The following description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential responsibilities of work performed in this position. It is not a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.Essential Responsibilities:Manage RFI processes on technical issuesWhen identifying problems, present solutions.Communicate changes as result of problem resolution- to subs, to FHG team, to clients and their engineer.Keep track of CO cost as a result of changes and keep PM informed.Be an expert on the drawings for a given work scope and actively identify discrepancies.Receive discrepancies from others, further research the discrepancy to be able to communicate to the owner, engineer and others.Work with Project team members to identify choke points with problem resolution to minimize schedule impacts.Participate in daily and weekly safety meetings lead by Site Safety Manager. Contributing consistently on expectations around execution of work and site safety and quality.Participate in weekly subcontractor coordination meeting led by PM. Expectation is to speak to and help lead discussion on site challenges and key tasks.Participate in weekly client coordination meeting led by PM. Expectation is to talk through summary of work completed previous week and 2 week look ahead during meeting.Review scope documents and subcontracts before issuance to subcontractors.FHG Values and Leadership:Ethical- do the right thing when no one is watching.Help FHG stand out from the rest of the industry for the way we serve our customers and deliver an excellent product.Position RequirementsRequired Skills:Proficient in reading the following drawings:Plan viewIsometric viewP&IDPFDNavisworks ModelsAbility to use MS Office Word and Excel.Proficiency with Revu Software (Bluebeam).Experience using Navisworks (3D modeling).Proficiency with Procore.Strong attention to detail.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to triage and prioritize multiple competing tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills:Experience providing constructability reviews to clients/ engineering firms.Previous experience working for an engineering firm in a field facing/ inspection role.Process/ Operations Experience in addition to required experience.Equal Opportunity Employer
