Position will remain open until filled.Posting DetailsPosition InformationJob Title Part-Time Wellness Coordinator Department Counseling Services Office Position SummaryGettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking a highly organized, dynamic, and innovative individual with a background in preventative health education and working with young adults to serve in this 10-month, part-time (30 hours per week) position as the Wellness Coordinator for Counseling and Wellness Services. Gettysburg College is a highly selective, residential undergraduate liberal arts college, which enrolls approximately 2,200 students.The Wellness Coordinator is a member of the College Life Division and is responsible for developing, implementing and leading campus-wide student wellness outreach and health promotion programs and practices. The objective of this position is to foster an environment that promotes holistic student well-being, health education and personal development. The person in this position needs to be highly-motivated; detail-oriented and a strong collaborator as well as a self-starter who can establish strong working relationships with staff, student workers, and campus partners. The Wellness Coordinator will support departmental programs/services and take the lead on programs.Responsibilities IncludeCollaborate with Executive Director of Counseling & Wellness and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to wellness for students emphasizing personal and community well-being including, but not limited to, substance use; suicide prevention; financial, emotional and physical wellnessPlan, implement, and evaluate monthly evidence-informed wellness outreach activities, programs and initiatives for student body utilizing Gettysburg College’s wellness dimensionsCollaborate with community partners to coordinate wellness activities, programs and initiatives for student bodyDevelop strategic, creative marketing campaigns and disseminate wellness education and awareness materials on campus (social media, web-based, email, print)Co-lead College Life Wellness Advisory CommitteeCo-lead peer education program, including training, supervision, and providing ongoing support for peer educators campus wellness initiatives and outreachMaintain coordinated programming calendar for campus-wide wellness activities, programs and initiativesDevelop goals, and measurable objectives for wellness promotion and risk prevention/reduction activities, programs and initiatives in coordination with Executive Director of Counseling & Wellness and other campus partnersAssist in development, implementation, and analysis of student wellness surveys and program evaluation toolsAssist with initiating, processing, and maintaining records and invoicesReflect principles of inclusion & belonging into all aspects of wellness activities, programs and initiatives in order to meet needs of all studentsOther duties as assignedThis is an hourly position with a pay rate of $20-$23.00/hourQualificationsA bachelor’s degree is required. Most relevant degree areas include public health, health education, or social work. Degrees in other fields will be considered with evidence of sufficient university-level coursework and/or professional continuing education in the areas listed aboveDemonstrated knowledge of health topics and current trends relevant to college student populations such as substance use, mental health, sleep and technology usageKnowledge of health issues and impact on specific student populations (athletes, Greek affiliates, underrepresented identities)Ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling written contentDemonstrated experience with marketing and social media platformsEvidence of ability to provide leadership and problem-solving skillsAbility to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community collaboratorsAbility to work well independently and also to collaborate and communicate effectively with groupsDemonstrated organizational skills and attention to detailsAbility to work periodic evening and weekend hoursMust have reliable transportationSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsPlease submit application materials through our on-line system.
