Sample Operations Manager

Overview In this role you will oversee human specimen procurement operations and cross-functional collaboration with scientists and vendors. You will refine project scopes, evaluate vendor feasibility, and drive contract execution for procurement and outsourced testing, ensuring timely delivery and data quality. You will support scientists on non-clinical projects involving specimens, including technology evaluations and assay validation, while maintaining compliance with GCP and biobanking policies. The position blends project leadership with alliance management to advance translational biology initiatives. You will work with Legal, Contracts, and Procurement to keep contracts on track and partnerעם ResponsibilitiesOversee operational aspects of human specimen acquisition from vendors and academic collaborationsRefine project scope with scientists and assess feasibility with vendorsExecute/contracts for procurement and outsourced testing to ensure timely delivery and qualityManage multiple projects from request to completion, overseeing specimen receipt and data qualityMaintain relationships with external labs/vendors and academic collaboratorsCoordinate with Legal, Contracts, and Procurement for timely contract executionStay informed on current GCP, biobanking, and sample management policies and best practices Key requirementsLife sciences degree; hands-on experience with human specimens (blood, tissue) and/or assay developmentStrong project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and timelinesExcellent organization, time management, and communication skillsAbility to drive results with limited instruction and incomplete informationExperience in alliance management, vendor management, and/or business developmentExperience in operational, regulatory and ethical aspects of biospecimen collection in drug developmentEffective negotiation and problem-solving skillsBS/BA (Engineering/Science preferred); minimum 3 years project management experienceExperience with process improvement initiativesClear communicator across scientific audiencesNegotiation and problem-solving orientationResults-oriented with proactive initiativeProject managementVendor/alliance managementRegulatory and ethical biospecimen knowledge (GCP, biobanking)
